Organization Name :- Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL)

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), established on 29th March 2004, is a State owned Power Utility in Odisha. OPTCL has infrastructure that spans for about 16,700 CKT KMs of transmission line, encompassing a vast and robust transmission network of 198 sub-stations ranging from 132 kV to 400 kV.

Positions :- Junior Management Trainee/Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee

Job Location :- Odisha

Salary :-

  • Junior Management Trainee:  Rs. 44,900/- to Rs. 1,42,400/-
  • Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee (JMOT): Rs. 25,600/- to Rs. 81,200/- 

Qualification :-

Junior Management Trainee:

  • Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering with at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.
    For SC, ST and PwBD candidates, the minimum percentage of marks required is 50%.

Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee (JMOT):

  • HSC pass from recognized Board or equivalent and National Trade Certificate in Electrician Trade from institution recognized by SCTE&VT / NCVT with minimum 60% marks.
  • For SC, ST and PwBD candidates, the minimum percentage of marks required is 50%

Age Limit (As on 01 May 2025) :-

  • Junior Management Trainee: 21 – 32 Years
  • Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee (JMOT): 18 – 32 Years

Age Relaxation:

  • For SC/ST candidates 5 years (for posts reserved for the respective category)
  • For SEBC candidates 5 years (for posts reserved for the respective category)
  • For Women candidates 5 years (for posts reserved for the respective category)
  • For ex-servicemen maximum 5 years
  • For PwBD candidates 10 years over and above category relaxation

Selection Process :-

  • The selection process involves Computer Based Test (CBT) and Skill Test.
  • Eligible candidates will be called for Computer Based Test, comprising 200 number of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The CBT will be of Three (3) hours duration. The questions shall consist of:
  • Subject Domain Knowledge (80%), Numerical / GK & Reasoning (10%) & English Knowledge (10%).
  • There will be 01 (One) mark for each correct answer and negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
  • CBT:
    • Unreserved: 50%
    • SC/ST/PwBD: 40%
  • Personal Interview:
    • No Qualifying Marks
  • Candidates who qualify in CBT are shortlisted and called for Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 in each category.
  • The merit list will be drawn purely on the basis of Performance in the CBT and Personal Interview.
  • The weightage for CBT & Personal Interview is 80% & 20% respectively.
  • The candidates, who have shortlisted for Personal Interview shall be called for document verification.

Application Fee :-

  • Unreserved / SEBC Category: Rs. 1180/- (Rs 1000/- plus applicable GST of Rs 180/-)
  • SC/ST/PwBD: Rs. 590/-(Rs 500/- plus applicable GST of Rs 90/-)
  • OPTCL departmental candidates are exempted from payment of this fee.
